Every year during the holy month of Ramzan, the Punjab Government launches a relief program to support low-income families. In the past, this support was provided through Ramzan Bazaars, where food items were sold at subsidized rates. However, last year, the government introduced food hampers instead.
For 2025, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the government has introduced the Nigahban Ramzan Package, which will provide PKR 10,000 in cash to 3 million deserving families across Punjab.
Key Features of the Nigahban Ramzan Package 2025
- Cash Assistance: Each eligible family will receive PKR 10,000.
- Beneficiaries: 3 million low-income families across Punjab.
- Data Collection: Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) are identifying deserving families through the Punjab Social & Economic Registry (PSER) website, i.e, pserpunjabgov.com.pk.
- Disbursement: The Bank of Punjab (BOP) will issue payments through custom-made Pay Orders (POs).
- Delivery: Pakistan Post will deliver Pay Orders along with a letter from the Chief Minister directly to selected families.
- Encashment Methods: Beneficiaries can deposit their Pay Orders in any active bank account or withdraw cash from designated branchless banking agents like Alfa Pay, HBL Konnect, and UBL Omni after biometric verification and PIN code entry.
How to Receive the 10,000 PKR Assistance In Ramadan?
- Data Verification: PITB verifies family data and sends it to BOP.
- Pay Order Issuance: BOP issues a Pay Order for each selected family.
- Home Delivery: Pakistan Post delivers the Pay Order along with a letter from CM Punjab.
- Cash Withdrawal Options:
- Deposit the Pay Order in any active bank account.
- Withdraw cash from branchless banking agents after biometric verification.
